VIDEO: The origins of Galaxy Entertainment Group’s partnership with Monte-Carlo SBM

It was July 2015 when leading Macau integrated resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) completed its first strategic investment outside of Macau by acquiring a 5% stake in Monaco-based Societe des Bains de Mer (SBM).

Since then the two companies have expanded their mutual interests to new corners of the globe, highlighted by the 2017 announcement of a strategic partnership aimed at developing and operating entertainment businesses, including IR projects, across the Asia Pacific region.

At the top of that list sits Japan, with the duo among the first partnerships to declare a joint intention to pursue a Japanese IR bid together.

It appears to be a match made in heaven – GEG bringing its strong track record of success in Asia via iconic properties such as Galaxy Macau and StarWorld, and SBM a proud 150-year history that is synonymous with delivering quality experiences for its guests in one of Europe’s most prestigious localities.

IAG is pleased to present this exclusive video in which GEG Vice Chairman Francis Lui and Minister of State of Monaco Serge Telle explain how the partnership between GEG and SBM first began.
