Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands is among 16 new locations named on a list of places visited by positive COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said Monday.
According to information provided by the MOH, MBS was visited twice in late November by people who later tested positive, including a five-hour window on Saturday 21 November and a similar period on Friday 27 November.
The instances have been deemed low risk, with the MOH stating, “There is no need to avoid places where confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been. The National Environment Agency will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.”
It added that, as a precautionary measure, anyone who had visited any of the 16 locations named – which also includes various retail and F&B outlets – during the specified times should monitor their health for 14 days from their date of visit and see a doctor promptly if they develop any symptoms.
Singapore’s casinos were closed in early April at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic before reopening at 25% capacity from 1 July.
The MBS website outlines a range of safety protocols in place on its gaming floors including a limit of one person per 10 square meters of gross floor area, maximum three people per gaming table.
