Yokohama to establish Operator Selection Committee on 30 November

Yokohama city announced Friday that it would establish its IR Operator Selection Committee on 30 December, with its first meeting to convene on the same day.

Seven members from various fields will be selected as committee members to attend the session. According to the city’s IR Promotion Department, the committee will be established in order to ensure transparency and fairness as the city proceeds with an operator selection process in its IR bid.

There is apossibility that the majority of proceedings will not be disclosed publicly, with the committee to decide on the date of the session what will actually be disclosed.

One committee member each will be selected from the architecture, business administration, peace and order, economics, city planning, addiction and tourism/MICE/culture fields. The first session will be held at Pacifico Yokohama and a maximum of 10 members of the public will be admitted.
