Macau recorded more than 28,000 visitor arrivals last Friday 20 November, the highest daily tally in the past nine months according to the figure released by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO)
The 2020 Macau Grand Prix kicked off Friday with race practice day, working together with the Macau Food Festival and other activities as part of the city’s tourism promotion initiatives.
The MGTO had stated that running multiple events would have a greater impact in attracting visitation from mainland China to Macau during festivals and holiday periods.
However, Macau’s health authority has announced in recent days that it will impose 14-day quarantine measures on travelers returning from Zhangjiang and Zhoupu town in Pudong New Area of Shanghai, Dongjiang Port Area in Tianjin and Manzhouli city in Inner Mongolia as sporadic local transmissions have been detected in those places.
