Inside Asian Gaming (IAG) has announced Yeewood Consultancy Ltd Managing Director Melina Leong as a new addition to the judging panel for the Asian Gaming Power 50 in 2020.

The 13th Asian Gaming Power 50 will be announced at IAG’s annual Black Tie Gala Dinner, to be held this year in the Parisian Ballroom at The Parisian Macao on Friday 6 November 2020. Sands China is Venue Sponsor of the event.

Ms Leong joins an esteemed panel of judges that includes regulators, scholars, consultants and experienced industry commentators.

The 2020 Asian Gaming Power 50 judging panel is:

Andrew W Scott – Vice Chairman and CEO, Inside Asian Gaming (Panel Chairman)
Ben Blaschke – Managing Editor, Inside Asian Gaming
Muhammad Cohen – Editor-at-Large, Inside Asian Gaming
David Green – Principal, Newpage Consulting
Constance Hsu – Director, Cheng Ying Group
Desmond Lam – Professor in IR and Tourism Management, University of Macau
Melina Leong – Managing Director, Yeewood Consultancy Limited
Rui Pinto Proença – Partner, MdME Lawyers
Michael Zhu – SVP, International Operations, Planning and Analysis, The Innovation Group

Ms Leong has over 30 years’ experience in public relations, corporate affairs, community affairs and event management.

She has held senior positions in various companies including Chief Operating Officer at Cotai Water Jet, and Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Community Affairs at Sands China Limited. Additionally, she has led corporate communications functions for the Macao Telecommunications Company (CTM) and Macau International Airport.

Ms Leong currently serves as a member of the 12th Shaanxi Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Macao delegate of the 13th executive committee of The Guangdong Women’s Federation, Director of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, and a Macau member of the China Overseas Friendship Association.

“It is an honor to join the judging panel for the 2020 Asian Gaming Power 50,” said Ms Leong. “For many years, Inside Asian Gaming has provided positive recognition of the most influential people within the gaming industry. The past few months of 2020 have been a challenging time for the industry and I look forward to the opportunity to recognize the hard effort.”

IAG Vice Chairman and CEO, Andrew W Scott, said, “I am absolutely thrilled Melina is joining the judging panel for the Asian Gaming Power 50 in 2020.

“The Power 50 judging panel is very exclusive with just nine judges and has remained very stable over the years, with Melina being just the second addition to the panel since 2017. Through Melina’s decades working in and around the Asian gaming industry, and being highly connected in Macau and across Asia, she brings a wealth of experience to this year’s panel.

“Her unique set of skills and knowledge will bring yet another perspective to the judging panel’s deliberations to help us make the most informed decisions possible for the Asian Gaming Power 50.”

First published by IAG in 2008, the Asian Gaming Power 50 has become renowned as the definitive guide to the most influential people in the Asian gaming industry over the preceding 12 months.

The Asian Gaming Power 50 Black Tie Gala Dinner will see IAG count down this year’s “Big 50” while guests enjoy a fine dining meal, lively entertainment and the company of many industry peers and influencers. The list will be announced in a variety of interesting ways by renowned VIPs and government officials.
