Manila’s Solaire Resort & Casino has announced a new “phasing plan” that will enable it to gradually increase capacity via a raft of new social distancing and safety protocols.
The plan follows a directive issued by Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR late last month granting permission for Manila casinos and resorts to resume operations at 30% capacity.
According to information sent to IAG on Tuesday, new measures being introduced at Solaire include gaming tables and slot machines on the gaming floor repositioned to accommodate only a strict number of persons, custom-built safety shields for tables and slots to be rolled out in phases, contactless payment options, disinfectant chambers for arriving guests and restaurant menus now accessible by QR code.
Solaire said its front of house team will also be assisting on player education, while “new normal guest journey videos” will be played on screens around the property to serve as guidance.
Staff will be required to undergo their own series of safety protocols including rapid antibody and PCR testing of all employees, a requirement to fill out a daily Health Declaration Form, mandatory face masks, temperature checks and passing through on-site disinfectant chambers.
