August 4 was established as Pachislot Day by the Japan Electric Game Machine Industry Cooperative and the Slot Machine Game Commerce Cooperative.
The date comes from “pachi”, which sounds like eight in Japanese, and the “su” at the beginning of “slot”, which sounds like four in Japanese. The formal name of a pachislot is “Rotating drum game machine” in Japanese.
This is a day to thank the pachislot fans across Japan. The anniversary has been certified and registered by the Japan Anniversary Association.
