Australia’s Crown Resorts has announced it will reopen Crown Perth this Saturday 27 June 2020, more than three months after suspending all operations at both Crown Perth and Crown Melbourne due to COVID-19.
While its flagship Melbourne property remains closed for the foreseeable future given a recent outbreak of COVID-19 clusters across the state of Victoria over the past week, Crown Perth will resume operations of its casino and gaming floor and its food and beverage outlets under temporary restrictions it has agreed with the Western Australian government.
Those restrictions include capacity limits at each venue on site based on a maximum density of one person per two square meters, and physical distancing between patrons at EGMs and gaming tables. Crown Perth Poker posted on social media that it will reopen with a maximum of five players allowed at any one poker table.
Crown Resorts suspended operations at both properties on 23 March.
In a statement, CEO Ken Barton said, “Crown’s priority is to the health and safety of our employees, customers and the community. The physical distancing and hygiene measures have been developed in consultation with the Government, Commissioner of Police and Chief Health Officer to allow reopening in a safe manner.
“We look forward to welcoming back many of our employees and customers to Crown Perth.”
Western Australia currently has only three active cases of COVID-19, all of them returned overseas travellers currently in quarantine.
