Macau’s integrated resort operators are still anxiously awaiting the easing of border restrictions with Guangdong Province with their main gaming floors remaining largely empty once again this week.
According to Inside Asian Gaming’s weekly spot count of 11 properties, there were an average of 15 players on the main gaming floors of each property during any given midweek afternoon – down from 19 a week ago – of which there were an average of five at the tables and 10 on slots.
As has been the case every single week since IAG first began counting heads six weeks ago, MGM Macau was the busiest with 12 people playing table games and 18 playing slots, while Sands Cotai Central was again quietest with just one slots player. The second most active gaming floor belonged to Galaxy Macau where five players occupied tables and 16 were playing slots.
The 11 IRs IAG visited were City of Dreams, Galaxy Macau, Grand Lisboa, MGM Cotai, MGM Macau, Parisian Macao, Sands Cotai Central, StarWorld, Venetian Macao, Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. All counts were conducted on the afternoons of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
