Royal Casino Ha Long Bay will become the latest Vietnamese casino to reopen its doors on Tuesday, albeit with a range of social distancing measures in place following a recent government decision to slowly ease COVID-19 restrictions.
According to management consultancy firm Platinum Entertainment Limited, which last year was appointed as exclusive manager of gaming operations at the boutique casino – located in Vietnam’s world famous Ha Long Bay – the new health and safety measures include staggering gaming tables, reducing the seating at each table and limiting slot machines to every second machine.
Hand sanitizer will also be provided at all tables, temperature scanners installed at entrances and a surgical face mask provided to any patron not wearing a mask upon entry.
“In reopening the Royal Ha Long Hotel and Casino we would like to acknowledge and commend the Vietnam government for its response in containing the spread of COVID-19,” Platinum Entertainment said.
“Its swift action in closing cross border travel and introducing strict social distancing regulations has been exceptionally successful. The current number of reported cases at 288 and zero deaths in a country of over 97 million is indeed an outstanding achievement.
“Royal would also like to thank our staff for their continued support during this difficult period. We understand the uncertainty and concerns employees may be experiencing during this period and in appreciation we have responded by providing financial support during the lockdown period.
“In addition, we are pleased to have been able to support the local community by donating rice for disadvantaged locals and we are now very much looking forward to being able to recommence operations and hopefully return to a level of normalcy.”
A predominantly premium mass-focused property, Royal Casino was one of the first licensed casinos in Vietnam when it first opened in 2003 in Quảng Ninh province, and is currently licensed to offer 18 gaming tables and 70 EGMs.
The associated Royal Halong Hotel is a five-star property with facilities that include a restaurant, two swimming pools, spa, gymnasium and KTV.
