Global gaming product developer and bingo specialist FBM has donated Php20 million (US$395,000) to four public hospitals in the Philippines, according to gaming regulator PAGCOR.
Php5 million will be donated to each of Philippine General Hospital, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Lung Center of the Philippines and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, PAGCOR said, with the cash to be used for purchase of medical equipment necessary to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo said the state-gaming agency received a letter from FBM expressing its willingness to help.
“We are very thankful that many of our licensed gaming entities are expressing eagerness to help,” Domingo said. “Because of this shared bayanihan spirit, we are reminded that we are not alone in our battles. With the help of every willing organization, we have all been doing our share to flatten the curve.”
FBM founder Rui Francisco said the company wanted to assist hospitals “because we know that their professionals are some of the heroes in this daily battle against the virus and they must be properly equipped to take care of us.”
PAGCOR has already facilitated the distribution of Php200 million worth of essential items from Manila’shp Entertainment City casino licensees and P150 million worth of hospital supplies from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
