Junket operator Guangdong Group and its Guangdong Charity have donated 600,000 surgical masks to the Macau SAR government.
Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ms Ao Ieong U represented the SAR government to receive the masks on Monday, emphasizing that the government would distribute and use the masks to maximize their benefits for all sectors of society.
“Guangdong Charity hopes that these masks can help the government in fighting the epidemic and it firmly believes that we will overcome the epidemic with united efforts from all sectors of the society,” a Guangdong Group representative said.
Last month, Guangdong Charity also organized several visits to nursing homes for the elderly and donated gifts.
