The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has revealed that Casino Filipino in Tagaytay will finally resume operations next Monday 16 March – more than two months after it was closed in the wake of the Taal Volcano eruption.
PAGCOR announced in early January that the property would be temporarily closed due to the threat of further eruptions, with around 8,000 people having been evacuated at the time from the area surrounding the volcano, located around 70km south of Manila.
As previously reported by Inside Asian Gaming, Casino Filipino – Tagaytay remained closed throughout February while structural and electrical checks were conducted. However, PAGCOR confirmed on Friday that the property would open its doors from midday next Monday with a grand re-opening ceremony planned from Thursday 19 March.
“Aside from the table games and slot machines which will be re-opened, musical shows and other forms of entertainment will welcome customers,” the regulator said. “Regular gaming operations will run 24 hours a day.”
