All flight services between Macau and South Korea have been cancelled until 1 March after the Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) issued a Level 2 Travel Alert for South Korea due to the current community outbreak of COVID-19.
The Level 2 Travel Alert recommends that Macau residents avoid non-essential travel and reconsider their current travel plans to South Korea. Currently, there are no tour groups from Macau in South Korea and Macau travel agencies have cancelled all tours to South Korea until 15 March.
Egypt and Turkey are also currently listed on the Level 2 Travel Alert.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong has banned the entry of tourists arriving from South Korea, nor will South Korean arrivals be able to visit Macau via Hong Kong International Airport.
South Korea has recorded around 1,000 cases of the virus as of Tuesday and the Macau health authority has previously listed it as a “high risk area”, meaning any tourists from South Korea crossing into Macau must undergo medical testing and observation for between six and eight hours.
