Sands China Ltd has signaled a changing of the guard within its executive leadership team after appointing Chief of Staff Grant Chum to the role of Chief Operating Officer, taking over from Dr Wilfred Wong.
While Dr Wong will retain the role of President, Chum will take on responsibility for the day to day operations of the business, effective immediately, Sands China said. Chum will also remain a director of various company subsidiaries.
According to a Friday filing, Dr Wong’s revised role will see him provide overall leadership of the company, with his primary focus being on the long-term goals and strategic objectives of the business in Macau and the Greater Bay Area. The 67-year-old has held the role of President and COO since joining Sands China in November 2015.
The company also announced the appointment of Dylan Williams as new General Counsel, having been Senior Vice President of Legal and Company Secretary since January 2017.
