Nagasaki prefecture and Sasebo city have announced that they will conduct interviews with candidate IR operators later this month, on 21 and 22 February, with the goal of selecting its operator partner by autumn.
Applications for the interviews will be accepted between 3 and 13 February.
Nagasaki Governor Hodo Nagasaki stated over the weekend, “We hope to publicize our implementation policy for the IR operator public offering and selection around spring of this year. After that, the operator public offering will begin, leading to operator selection around autumn. We are proceeding with preparations based on this schedule.”
He also expressed his hope for a productive exchange of opinions.
“Along with considerations for participation in the RFP, we will also be accepting applications for additional discussions from operators and hope they will participate in this as well,” Governor Nagasaki said.
Three operators –Hong Kong’s Oshidori International, Austria’s Casinos Austria International and local firm Current – are set to bid for a Nagasaki IR license.
