Leading Asian VIP promotor Suncity Group has launched its Japanese website as it steps up its bid to win an IR license in Wakayama.
The website provides an overview of the company’s Japanese IR concept, including a detailed 5-minute video featuring artist’s impressions of the proposed waterfront development. The video can be viewed here.
“We will challenge regional revitalization centering on integrated resort facilities,” the website states.
“Nature, culture, history and people’s activities. We will promote the development of international tourism cities that make the most of the assets of Wakayama Prefecture, focusing on integrated resort facilities.”
Suncity has remained relatively quiet in Japan since the IR Implementation Bill was passed by the Diet last year, but has accelerated its involvement in recent weeks including presenting at an IR seminar in Wakayama earlier this week.
The company’s Japanese entity, Suncity Group Holdings Japan Co Ltd, was established on 1 August 2019.
Although best known for its VIP gaming services, Suncity has been actively looking to enter casino operations and will launch its first IR, Hoiana, in Vietnam later this year. It also purchased a 29.68% stake in Summit Ascent, owner and operator of Tigre de Cristal in Vladivostok, in April.
