Melco Resorts & Entertainment has opened its third satellite casino in Cyprus, C2 Ayia Napa.

The modest property sits on a land plot of almost 14,000 square meters although the casino itself covers just 367 square meters with 50 slot machines and no gaming tables. Opening hours are 3pm to 6am daily.

“We are confident that C2 Ayia Napa will help to enhance the city’s tourist product and significantly contribute to the sustainable growth of the local and island’s economy,” said City of Dreams Mediterranean Property President Craig Ballantyne.

“At the same time, the casino will offer an exceptional entertainment experience for both local and foreign guests.”

The launch of Melco’s latest satellite comes just a fortnight after the company celebrated the one year anniversary of the opening of its temporary casino in Limassol. Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho revealed at the time that Cyprus Casinos had welcomed 880,000 guests in that time including 710,000 at the temporary facility and 130,000 and 40,000 at its satellite casinos in Nicosia and Larnaca respectively.

Melco is due to open one more satellite casino in Paphos this year, while its €500 million City of Dreams Mediterranean will launch in late 2021.
