Australian-listed Donaco International Limited has announced veteran Asia-Pacific gaming executive Paul Arbuckle as its new CEO.

The appointment of Arbuckle, who will be primarily based out of Donaco’s Star Vegas property in Cambodia but will also spend time at Aristo International Hotel in Vietnam, sees interim CEO and Managing Director Benjamin Lim and former COO Gerald Tan exit the company.

Paul Arbuckle

Arbuckle boasts more than 30 years’ experience in the region’s gaming industry, most recently as COO of The Star Gold Coast. He was previously SVP of Casino Marketing and Gaming Operations at Resorts World Sentosa, overseeing 3,800 staff, 570 gaming tables and 2,500 slot machines, and has spent time working for Tabcorp, Burswood Casino (now Crown Perth), Showboat Australia and Zagame Corporation.

“The Board of Donaco is very pleased that Paul Arbuckle has agreed to join us as our Chief Executive Officer,” said Donaco Chairman Stuart McGregor.

“Paul’s experience and expertise in gaming operations is critical to improving the performance of our casino operations in Cambodia and Vietnam. While these businesses continue to be profitable, the Board has considered for some time that they are not reaching their full potential.

“Accordingly, Paul’s appointment is a crucial step in the Board’s plan to provide a fresh start, revitalize our businesses, and restore value for shareholders.”
