The final day of the 1st Japan IR Expo saw a series of panel discussion and lectures by specialists in various departments related to the IR industry.

Global Mix representative Hiromitsu Katsumi acted as moderator for the theme “Regional Economy Promotion with Osaka’s Growth-type IR.”

Galaxy Entertainment Japan General Manager Satoshi Okabe and Tatsuya Chujo, the SVP for Las Vegas Sands International Marketing and teacher at Osaka University of Commerce, were panelists. Okabe argued that the key to its success would be capitalizing on the special characteristics of Osaka.

“Talent Development” was the second topic, with panelists including Chris Gordon of Wynn Resorts Japan and Takako Igaki, honorary principal of the newly established Osaka IR & Wedding Hotel Specialist School which has established an IR department, among others. Another was William Shen, Caesars Entertainment’s Japan representative, who emphasized that “appointment of women will enhance business.”

Gordon predicted that “90% of management positions will be filled by locals within 10 years in the same way as Macau.”

Over 10,000 people visited the 1st Kansai IR Expo 2019 over the two days.
