Scientific Games Corporation has chosen to proceed with an initial public offering of a minority interest in its social gaming business after filing a registration statement with the SEC.
The social gaming business will now be officially called “SciPlay”, the company revealed this week, with its Class A common stock to be listed on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “SCPL”.
The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined.
Scientific Games CEO and President Barry Cottle explained in November, when the proposed IPO was first announced, that it “would give us greater flexibility to pursue growth for the business and drive value for stakeholders.”
