The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF) 2019 kicked off on Thursday at The Venetian Macao with the SAR’s integrated resorts showcasing their progress on environmental policies.
All six Macau gaming operators joined the event, highlighting policies aimed at minimizing their environmental footprint in the city.
Green policies have become increasingly important for gaming operators in Macau as their corporate social responsibility programs have been developing.
Local IRs’ green directives include how electric power and other critical resources are managed inside their facilities, as well as actions to improve the lives of the community such as the adoption of electric shuttle buses.
Ecological Civilization
MIECF 2019 will run until Saturday under the theme “Promoting Ecological Civilization and Green Development,” fostering ‘the principles of prioritizing resource conservation, environmental protection and ecological restoration,’ the organization states.
The event includes a series of keynote speeches, networking sessions and roundtables to share experiences in the development of a more eco-friendly civilization.
