Japan Casino School in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has announced that a new Shinsaibashi School will open in April on Osaka’s Shinsaibashisuji shopping street.

It was April 2018 when Japan Casino School set up an Osaka campus in Namba and this latest move is in anticipation of Osaka being successful in its bid for an IR.

The Shinsaibashi school will offer intensive courses over three months as well as a night-school course. It promises to be a comfortable learning environment for those studying while working.

In addition to practical skills such as roulette and baccarat, students will also learn English, etiquette and how to tackle problem gambling. The cost to attend will be approximately JPY600,000 (US$5,430). When IRs opens in Japan, there is expected to be demand for around 6,000 dealers of all ages and gender.

Principal Masayoshi Oiwane commented, “Our graduates are increasingly gaining employment in large overseas IRs. The operators are hoping to nurture Japanese staff in anticipation of IRs in this country.”

Akira Sukawa, Japan Casino School’s Osaka School Manager

A graduation ceremony will be held for the current Osaka campus on 31 March. New graduates will gain practical experience in overseas casinos and are expected to play an active role on the front lines for the imminent birth of IRs in Japan.
