The former chairman of pachislot manufacturer Universal Entertainment Corp, Kazuo Okada, is making waves with his HK$7 million (US$890,000) giveaway.
Following the launch of his new YouTube and Twitter accounts last week and the release of his first YouTube video, Okada’s Twitter followers had reached 4,000 by Monday morning after he promised the sizeable giveaway should he be reinstalled as Universal Entertainment Chairman.
It’s clear that Japan’s “Casino King” is serious in his attempt to take back his former position.
As promised, Okada has now uploaded part 2 of his YouTube series. This rendition is mainly a self-introduction, starting off with, “You probably don’t know me,” as a ploy to improve notoriety.
He continues with a brief history, explaining “I started with nothing nearly 50 years ago. There is a reason I’m here. I’ve been removed from my position as chairman of the company that I founded and was running. This is extremely offensive.”
He closes with a request for viewers to maintain an interest in him, promising more videos to come and the gift of HK$7 million to one of his followers if he is reinstated.
Universal stated over the weekend, “We have nothing to say. To put it bluntly, there is zero possibility of Kazuo Okada being reinstated.”
