Japan’s Universal Entertainment Corp has signed a letter of intent with Chinese travel agency CTS Shanghai Zhongqiao International Travel Service Co. Ltd with the aim of boosting Chinese tourism to its Philippines integrated resort, Okada Manila.

The letter of intent sets a basis for consultation over the planning and development of Philippine sightseeing tour packages and specifically to “attract tourists from overseas to the Okada Manila integrated resort operated by the company” in Manila.

CTS Shanghai Zhongqiao International Travel Service Co. Ltd is one of the three largest state-operated travel agencies in China, while parent company CTS (China National Travel Service Group) operates over 100 travel agencies and travel vocational schools across China and employs around 10,000 people.

Universal said it was still assessing the direct impact the agreement will have on Okada Manila’s bottom line.
