Macau’s casinos farewelled 2018 in style with gross gaming revenue climbing 16.6% year-on-year to MOP$26.47 billion (US$3.28 billion) in December.
The impressive result, which comfortably exceeded forecasts of between 9% and 11% growth, represented a 29th consecutive month of positive GGR and was the third highest monthly amount in real terms after October and August.
December’s final revenue figure took Macau’s GGR for all of 2018 to MOP$302.85 billion (US$37.5 billion), up 14.0% on last year’s gross gaming revenue for the Asian gaming hub.
