Savoy Hotel to open alongside Resorts World Manila this Friday

Savoy Hotel to open alongside Resorts World Manila this Friday

Philippine property giant Megaworld will launch its second Savoy Hotel at Newport City near Resorts World Manila (RWM) this Friday, adding further accommodation within touching distance of the integrated resort as it continues to rebound from the devastating lone gunman attack that saw 37 people lose their lives last June.

The new Savoy Hotel, coming at a cost of Php5 billion (US$93.5 million), houses 684 hotel rooms ranging from between 23 and 27 square meters for standard rooms and 35 to 50 square meters for suites.

Located directly across from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, it boasts a unique co-working area called the Squares on several floors described as being suitable for “casual group hangouts, intimate chats and meetings.”

The property also has three food and beverage outlets: the Savoy Café for buffet style dining, Zabana Bar for cocktails and drinks plus The Poolside for a more luxurious dining experience.

Inside Asian Gaming revealed last week that RWM is set to become home to the Philippines’ first Ritz-Carlton in the coming months as part of the integrated resort’s multi-million dollar makeover. The Ritz-Carlton will be located at the current Maxims hotel where the attacker who tragically killed 36 people when he stormed the property in June 2017 took his own life.

RWM has already converted its former Remington Hotel to Holiday Inn Express, while the 191-room Okura Hotel – another newcomer to the Philippines market – will occupy space once earmarked for the expansion of Maxims.

MegaWorld is the property firm of Andrew Tan – the Chairman of RWM co-owner Alliance Global Group Co.
