Kevin Tan, the son of Alliance Global Group Chairman Andrew Tan, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer – taking the next step in his father’s long-term succession plan.
Alliance Global Group is the majority stakeholder of Travellers International Hotel Group, which owns and operates Resorts World Manila.
In a filing to the Philippines Stock Exchange on Monday, Alliance Global revealed that it had accepted the resignation of Andrew Tan, with the board of directors appointing Kevin Tan as the new CEO of the company.
“Dr Tan will remain as Chairman of the Board of Directors,” the filing said.
According to local media outlet PhilStar, Kevin, 38, will spearhead the company’s strategic direction, financial operations as well as investments and acquisitions.
“Kevin’s vast exposure and professional experience in the various companies under Alliance Global Group for almost two decades brings him to the pedestal of this new leadership role,” said Dr Tan.
Alliance Global’s interests include real estate giant MegaWorld Corp and beverage production firm Emperador Inc.
Kevin has served as a director of the company since 2012.
