Success Dragon eyes blockchain as Macau gaming machine revenue falls
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The online gaming arm of Philippines casino operator Leisure and Resorts World Corp (LRWC) is looking to become one of the country’s primary block producers for EOS.

In a filing to the Philippines Security Exchange, LRWC said that its subsidiary, LR Data Center and Solutions, Inc, is in discussion for a Cooperation Agreement with Francis Aguilar and a Technical Service Agreement with Fast Distributed Cloud Computing, Inc. in relation to the data center hosting and network operations of blockchain technology using EOS.

“EOS is a distributed ledger technology platform which can be utilized in a number of ways, to include cryptocurrency, distributed applications and industrial blockchain,” the company said.

EOS outsources node operations and upkeep to the EOS community, with the host of the node called a block producer (BP).

“LR Data is already in the network and data center business, in its normal course of business,” LRWC said. “LR Data only intends to host an EOS node in the Philippines, thereby becoming a BP. As a BP, LR Data will provide the data center co-location, redundant and secure network operations and customer service. For its services, LR Data will be paid a hosting fee.”

The Philippines Inquirer quoted LR Data Chairman Enrique Gonzales as saying, “With the launch of EOS Philippines, LR Data is at the forefront of infrastructure provisioning and supporting decentralization and democratization. Financial technology and blockchain is going to be a pillar of our business model moving forward.”
