Landing International Development Limited says it has received approval from the Parañaque City Council to develop and operate an integrated resort – including a casino – in the Philippines after leasing 9.5 hectares of land earlier this month.
In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Landing said that Parañaque City Council “has, among others, passed the resolution approving and granting the request of Landing Resorts Philippines Development Corporation (Landing Philippines) to operate a resort and a casino in the Entertainment City in Barangay Tambo, City of Parañaque, the Philippines.”
The company announced on 9 April that it had leased land in Parañaque City but until now had refrained from confirming plans for its resort to include a casino. It had previously said that the IR would include a Filipino culture theme park, an indoor waterpark, an indoor movie-based theme park, a convention center, hotels, a retail mall and other commercial and entertainment facilities.
Landing also revealed in its latest filing that it was “still in the process of applying for other approvals required to develop and operate the integrated resort, and these may or may not be granted.”
