Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) paid tribute to the work of local media at its annual media appreciation luncheon held at Grand Lisboa on Monday. Over 80 representatives from Macau’s media attended the event and were greeted by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM Dr Ambrose So, Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer Angela Leong, Director and Chief Operating Officer Louis Ng, Director Dr Rui Cunha, and senior management of the company.
Dr So thanked the media for being supportive to the company during his speech.
“SJM is once again very pleased to host this annual gathering to show our appreciation to Macau’s media. We salute the loyalty of the Macau press to the principles of good journalism, as you continue to keep the public informed, impartially, of local, national and global events,” he said.
Discussing SJM, Dr So added that, “We are expecting a year of rapid progress towards completion of our Grand Lisboa Palace project on Cotai, supported by our solid business on Macau Peninsula.
“The opening of the beauty arcade JA Avenue and Jai Alai Hotel last year have added more non-gaming elements to our growing business portfolio. We are also proud that Grand Lisboa continues to be the only hotel in the world with seven Michelin stars, giving substantial content to the designation of Macau as a Creative City of Gastronomy.”
