The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has announced the promotion of its highly experienced tournament director Lloyd Fontillas to the role of General Manager and Executive Tournament Director.
A long-time fixture on the floors of the APT circuit, Fontillas is one of the most respected figures in the poker industry worldwide and was last year invited to join the Board of Directors of the Poker Tournament Directors Association (PTDA) – the global body that sets industry standard rules and regulations.
“Lloyd has been an integral and important part of the APT since the very beginning, I am delighted that he will now be taking on the day to day business of APT and guiding its future growth and development,” said APT CEO Jeff Mann.
As Tournament Director, Fontillas sets the APT schedules, order of play and type of events and is on the floor full time ensuring everything runs smoothly. He has been with the brand since 2009, starting out as a specialist then taking a more active role as Tournament Director in 2010. In 2016 he was promoted to Executive Tournament Director.
As General Manager, Fontillas will be part of the decision making process of the brand’s future development.
Fontillas said he intends “to take the brand to the next level” in regards to overall player experience and delivering high caliber APT events.
