The men are alleged to have been live-broadcasting baccarat via WeChat and were acting on behalf of a criminal syndicate from mainland China. Investigations revealed that they were tasked with taking bets, recording results and assisting players with bank transfers.
The syndicate, which was in operation for four months, made profit of around MOP$100,000 a day with each of the men paid a monthly retainer of MOP$15,000.
The Judiciary Police report that the men have been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office on charges of operating a criminal syndicate and illicit operation of gambling.
