Indian gaming giant Delta Corp has registered 43% revenue and 94% profit growth quarter-on-quarter for the three months to 30 September 2017, with the company crediting strong government policy and the implementation of its online gaming business for the impressive results.
Delta Corp recorded revenue of Rs189 crores for the quarter, up from Rs128.6 crore in the previous quarter and representing a 40% increase on Rs135.4 crore over the same period in 2016.
Net profit after tax for the quarter was Rs43 crore, a 93% quarter-on-quarter and 34% year-on-year boost, with EBITDA up 51% quarter-on-quarter and 28% year-on-year.
In a filing to the National Stock Exchange of India, Delta Corp said the results have “propelled [the company] to the next level.
“Our foray into the online gaming sector has helped in gaining a strong foothold and will further strengthen our leadership position in the gaming and hospitality industry. Online gaming has outstanding potential and has given an to the company to have a diverse clientele across new demographics.
Chairman Jaydev Mody added, “The results witness a steady growth and show a stellar financial performance. The gaming policy proposed by the state of Goa is expected to bring positive change which will be positive for the industry at large and will offer the required impetus to Delta.”
Delta Corp operates three offshore casinos and a hotel-casino in Goa, Casino Deltin Denzong in Sikkim and The Delton integrated resort in Daman. It also operates online poker site Adda52.com.
