As part of Sands China’s Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme, two local SMEs contracted by Sands China are currently holding roadshows at the back-of-house areas of Sands Macao, The Venetian Macao, Sands Cotai Central and The Parisian Macao.
The roadshows are part of Sands China’s commitment to further support local procurement and SME growth, by offering more business opportunities to local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), micro-enterprises, young entrepreneurs, and “Made-in-Macao” enterprises.
Between 18 and 28 September, local SME suppliers Choi Heong Yun bakery and Vastcom Technology are displaying more than 60 products to Sands China’s 28,000 team members, offering them at a discounted price ahead of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.
Choi Heong Yun bakery is a “Made-in-Macao” enterprise that provides the Sands China with mooncakes and other baked goods. Pan Xueyi, shop manager at Choi Heong Yun, said: “We very much enjoy our working relationship with Sands China. Working with a large, professional organisation is a great opportunity for us, and provides us with a steady stream of reliable business.”
A micro-enterprise started by a Macao young entrepreneur, Vastcom Technology provides the company with technology products like laptop computers, monitors and other computer accessories. Crystal Ieong, general manager of Vastcom, said: “We are very happy to do business with Sands China. A large corporation like Sands gives us the chance to do business at a high-volume level, which has helped raise our standards and our operation to the next level.”
Roadshows like these are held regularly for Sands China team members. They benefit SMEs by giving them access to direct business opportunities with customers, while giving Sands China’s team members a chance to enjoy discounted offers.
Sands China’s Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme was jointly announced in July 2015 with the Macao Chamber of Commerce. The programme is in line with the Macao government’s initiative to “buy local” and demonstrates Sands China’s commitment to supporting local enterprises as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. It is part of Sands China’s supplier relationship management strategy, which guides the company’s long-standing effort to support local suppliers, whom it views as its strategic partners.
