New era dawns in Sydney

The Australasian Gaming Exhibition will be the biggest gaming trade show in the Southern hemisphere in 2017 as it moves to its new home at the impressive ICC Sydney.

Having spent the past three years at nearby Glebe Island, the Australasian Gaming expo (AGe) enters a new era in 2017 as it moves to its permanent home – the spectacular new ICC Sydney.

Located in the heart of Australia’s largest city at Darling Harbour, ICC Sydney covers 32,600 square meters over two levels, boasting an array of business suites, speaker preparation rooms and 70 meeting and seminar rooms with views to the city skyline.

AGE will this year cover a record 19,000 square meters of that space, making it one of the largest trade events in Australia and the largest gaming event in the Southern hemisphere.

It will include 250 exhibitors, including 50 exhibiting for the first time, as well as leading suppliers such as Aristocrat, Scientific Games, Ainsworth, Aruze, Ebet, IGT, Interblock and Konami. They will be showcasing the latest in cutting-edge gaming design and technologies, from table games to the 800-plus slot machines that will be on display.

AGE 2017 will also provide registered visitors with the opportunity to enjoy an array of complimentary seminars covering such topics as Current and Future Trends, Key Technology Issues, Domestic and International Gambling Research and Analyzing Stocks. A key session will see highly respected Australian financial commentator Michael Pascoe moderate a panel of CEOs from global gaming supply companies.

Aside from gaming specific products, this year’s exhibition will showcase a range of innovative hospitality products including audio visual equipment, ATM equipment, building services, cash handling and equipment, consultancy services, entertainment, financial services, food and beverage, furniture, IT, interior design and fitout, marketing services and more.

With AGE now back at Darling Harbour, access to this year’s exhibition will be greatly improved too. Nearby transport options include a light rail stop at the door and two bus routes (389 and 501) stopping at Harris Street in Pyrmont. ICC Sydney is also no more than a short 10-minute walk from the city center and from both Central and Town hall train stations.

Last year, AGE attracted a total of 6,797 visitors including 2,527 on Day 1, 2,911 on Day 2 and 1,359 on Day 2. In a survey held during the exhibition, 92% of visitors said they saw it as an opportunity to discover new products and technology, while 96% said the quality of stands was either good or excellent and 96% said the event itself was satisfactory or excellent.

Among the highlights of AGE 2017 will be a new daily newspaper called AGE Daily covering both event and industry news, which will be free to all registered visitors and also be available online.

All visitors will be able to receive information in “digital show bags” by tapping their entry badge at their preferred exhibitors’ stands.

The event website includes an interactive floor plan updated in real time, along with a list of exhibitors which can be sorted by company name, stand number or category – and provides contact details for each exhibitor and their website address for further information. There is also an AGe17 app available for download at the Apple Store or via the event website. The app features information including how to get to the venue, transport timetables, an interactive floor plan and a detailed exhibitor list.
