The board of Jimei International Entertainment Group Ltd has announced its intention to change the name of the company to Starlight Culture Entertainment Group Ltd, subject to approval by shareholders.
In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the company said changing the name would “better reflect the recent change of control of the Company and provide the Company with a new corporate image and identity.
“In light of the further business diversification and enhancement of the entertainment business of the Group, the Board considers that the new name of the company can more accurately reflect the corporate nature of the Group. The Board considers that the Proposed Change of Company Name is in the best interests of the Company and the Shareholders as a whole.”
The proposed name change comes amid a major reshuffling of control which saw junket veteran Jack Lam step down from his role as an executive director, having previously sold his 65.05% stake in the company in April. That stake was picked up by Cosmic Leader Holdings Ltd, a company owned by new Jimei International Chairman Mr Yan Xu and another executive director, Mr Chen Hong.
Jimei International also announced on Monday the appointment of Mr Chau Chit as Deputy Chairman of the Board, with his role including, “formulating and implementing the development strategies of the Group, and in overall management of the Group.”
