Taiwan’s Po-yi Wu has overcome a field of 507 players to be crowned Manila Megastack 7 Champion at City of Dreams Manila, taking home P2,645,000 in the process.
A total of 119 players returned on Sunday for Day 2, with the final table of nine players arriving after just over seven hours of play. They included Wu, who took a monster chip lead into the final table and ran it all the way through to a heads up battle with Linh Tran from Canada. The two cut a deal which saw chip leader Wu lock in P2,147,330 and Linh P1,900,000 with the pair playing for P100k cash, an ACOP Megastack package worth P100k and the trophy.
The heads-up battle lasted 26 hands with the lead changing a number of times before Wu eventually prevailed.
