Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has announced the signing of an agreement with Tange Associates, an international architecture company synonymous with epoch-making, contemporary architectural design in Japan and around the world.
In a statement, GEG said the agreement reinforces its commitments to working in close partnership with local companies and the communities in which they do business.
“We know that we must act responsibly and work closely with the community to ensure the IR compliments and blends in seamlessly with its local surroundings,” said GEG President Michael Mecca.
“With Tange Associates’ support, we will ensure that any property developed in Japan will be one-of-a-kind and designed, developed and operated sensitively and sustainably to the highest environmental standards.”
Paul Noritaka Tange, Chairman Tange Associates, said, “Architecture is not only about designing a city or a building, but just as important is the creation of a feel-good environment for the inhabitants – both local residents and visitors alike.
“IRs must become one with their surroundings and society in general. In today’s society, perception varies and the needs of individuals are rapidly changing. Our mission will be to perfectly capture those needs by creating a feel-good environment that elicits total satisfaction, which mirrors the history, regionality and culture of the land it stands on.”
In March, GEG and Monte-Carlo SBM announced the formal establishment of a strategic partnership, which includes a mutual commitment to enhance the respective businesses and brands of each company and to work together on the development and operation of entertainment businesses including Integrated Resort projects in the Asia-Pacific region, including opportunities in Japan.
