The world’s richest horse race is about to get even richer with the Stronach Group announcing that the 2018 Pegasus World Cup Invitational will boast a record US$16 million purse. The figure represents a 25% increase on this year’s US$12 million purse which was already more than offered by any other race in the world.
Scheduled to run on 27 January at Gulfstream Park in Miami, Florida, the race will be open to 12 domestic and international owners who will each pay US$1 million for the privilege of a starting spot. The additional US$4 million will be contributed by The Stronach Group.
