Boasting a brand new name and featuring a number of new sectors to reflect Macau’s growing diversity, the MGS Entertainment Show celebrated its fourth year in 2016. Held at the Venetian Macao from 15 to 17 November, the gaming trade show and exhibition – formerly known as the Macao Gaming Show – attracted a total of 195 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions.
As well as showcasing the latest products made by and for the Asian gaming industry, MGS also debuted a Technology Zone, a Tourism and Culture Zone and a Style and Fashion Zone in 2016. Interestingly, the reaction to the show from exhibitors we spoke to varied with most expressing disappointment with the number of business opportunities on Day 1, only for the mood to brighten considerably with considerably more positive feedback by Day 3.
However, Chairman of show organizer Macao Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association, Mr Jay Chun, has made it clear to IAG that MGS Entertainment Show is already planning for the future.
“We’re here to stay,” he said. “MGS has a three-year vision that it is determined to see through. And then it will be producing a further three-year plan for the next phase of expansion and development.”
