Philippines-based Oriental Group offers the best of both worlds – land-based and online

If some traditional land-based casino operators have struggled to adapt to the ever-expanding presence of online gaming right across the globe, the Philippines-based Oriental Group is proving the two can comfortably work hand in hand.

Operating out of the luxurious Midas Hotel in Manila’s Pasay City, Oriental Group comprises two main brands. The  first, Oriental Casino, is a land-basedpremium VIP club with 20 gaming tables currently in operation and another 10 due to be added in the coming months. The second, Oriental Game, is the company’s online operation providing live casino video streaming from 15 gaming tables with games on offer including Baccarat with Super Six Option, Multi-Game Baccarat, Card-Squeeze Baccarat, Dragon and Tiger, Roulette, Sic Bo and Fan Tan.

Oriental Game is also an online gaming software supplier offering full back-end and IT support for a select number of operators making use of their live video streaming service.

The idea of combining land-based and online gaming might seem an obvious one but as it stands Oriental Group remains the only operator to be granted gaming licenses from both the Philippine Gaming and Amusement Corporation (Pagcor) and the First Cagayan Leisure and Resorts Corporation (FCLRC).

The land-based operation, licensed by Pagcor, opened for business in July 2014 with the Midas Hotel providing added benefit as the only venue already accredited for both live and phone betting. As such, all 20 gaming tables are equipped with live high definition cameras for video streaming and  internet telephone (VOIP) capabilities

Despite this broad range of features, Oriental Casino believes it is the quality of its service rather than its technology that separates it from other VIP Clubs. Gaming staff are trained to focus on the needs of the player above all else in order to provide a pleasant gaming experience, while available VIP services include hotel bookings, travel and transportation arrangements, a fleet of vehicles operated by professional drivers and meals cooked to order by their Chinese chefs. There is also a concierge desk, restaurant and bar for the exclusive use of Oriental Casino guests.

The concept of Oriental Game first began to evolve in early 2014 and was granted a license by FCLRC soon afterwards. An expert IT team was then assembled to create a secure, high-quality online gaming and video streaming product while a team of dealers were put through intensive training to ensure transactions at all 15 online streamed tables are both smooth and consistent.

These same platforms are also shared by all operators using their software, with Oriental Group providing full back-end and IT support to ensure its high standards are maintained by everyone using their products.

Land-based and online under one roof? It’s the best of both worlds and undoubtedly the way of the future too.
