Intralot Beijing has been certified by the China Sports Lottery as a supplier of point-of-sale terminals.
The subsidiary of Greece-based lottery giant Intralot is one of six companies, and the only non-Chinese company, approved to replace some 130,000 terminals for 31 provincial branches of the Sports Lottery, all connected to a central monitoring system.
Intralot will supply its new Photon terminal as part of the deal.
“We are looking forward to participating in the terminals replacement cycle of the CSLA provincial lotteries, confident that Photon will be the terminal of their choice,” said Marios Mitromaras, general manager of Intralot Asia.
Lotteries are the only legal form of gambling in China. The Sports Lottery, one of two authorized lotteries in the country, is dedicated to raising money to support public sports programs and facilities. The sector grew a combined 18% last year to reach US$42 billion in sales.
