PRESS RELEASE

HAMDEN, CT – March 6,  2012 – TransAct Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ: TACT), a global leader in market-specific printers for transaction based industries todayannounced that their Epic 950® ticket printer has been chosen by 5 of the 6 new casinos due to open in United States in the first half of 2012.  Combined, these properties will have in excess of 10,000 gaming machines and each of the five properties have specified the Epic 950® as the ticket printer to be installed in all of the slot machines.

“We are extremely pleased that the overwhelming majority of the new properties chose the Epic 950® for their games.  These wins clearly demonstrate that the Epic 950® is the “printer of choice” for casino operators who demand unparalleled reliability and maximum flexibility for their slot floor”, commented Tracey Chernay, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at TransAct.

This award-winning and robust ticket-in, ticket-out printer is integrated into all gaming and casino slot machines and offers numerous advanced features including the jam free feature which prints the ticket first, then bursts the paper and presents the ticket to the slot patron.  In addition, the Epic 950® has a quick disconnect feature that enables casino operators to change out the printer without having to shut down the slot machine, which increases uptime to the casinos.  While there are many other advanced features and advantages that drive casinos to select the Epic 950®, one in particular is the Epic 950® has the industry leading paper-saving ticket low sensor that can detect as few as a single ticket in the paper tray or can be set to use all tickets before notifying the slot attendants to minimize ticket waste.  Casinos utilizing the Epic 950® have enjoyed jam-free operation and the flexibility to choose from a growing number of approved ticket stocks while savings money on utilizing as much paper as possible.

In addition, the Epic 950® provides a seamless upgrade path to TransAct’s revolutionary Epicentral® Print System which allows operators to print real-time promotional coupons while players are at the slot machine. The Epic 950® has delivered on the promise of printing personalized coupons and messages right at the slot – without having to change or upgrade printers. The ability to choose the Epic 950® today and to easily add the Epicentral Print System in the future has been a key decision criteria for the new opening casinos.
