Taipa Ferry Terminal next door to Cotai – the main growth area for Macau’s casino infrastructure – will soon have a bigger passenger capacity than the downtown ferry terminal on Macau peninsula reports the Macao Daily Times.
The Taipa facility – known locally as Pac On -is due for completion in the second quarter of 2013, and will have a capacity of 15 million passengers a year, the Infrastructure Development Office (GDI) coordinator said yesterday. It will be the territory’s main maritime entry point, Chan Hon Kit added.
Delays in the construction of the Pac On infrastructure, which was initially slated to open by 2007, were one of the main issues of discussion during the second day of debate at the Legislative Assembly.
