Stephen Weaver is to leave his job as an executive director of Sands China with effect from 19th June reports the Wall Street Journal.
Australian Mr Weaver, a lawyer by training, was previously President, Asia, for Las Vegas Sands Corp. before the flotation of the local unit Sands China on the Hong Kong stock exchange in November 2009. In that role he was responsible for implementing the key task of overseeing the completion, outfitting and launch of LVS’s massive real estate inventory on Cotai.
Steve Jacobs has been operational boss in Macau since his appointment in May 2009 initially as President, Macau, then subsequently in August 2009 as Chief Executive Officer of Sands China.
From 1994 to 2008, Mr Jacobs served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Vagus Group Inc., a US management services company and consultancy specialising in turning round troubled companies.
