Macau, 22 April 2010 – Dr. Stanley Ho, Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Managing Director of Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A., donated HK$5 million to help the victims of the Qinghai earthquake.
“I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the earthquake victims, and sincerely hope that the people in the affected area can rebuild their homes quickly”, said Dr. Ho.
“We are deeply touched by the never giving up spirit of the rescue crew and the people there. China, Hong Kong, and Macau are as close as flesh and blood – when one side is in trouble, the other side will show support. I firmly believe that if we join forces together, we will help our fellow countrymen to overcome the tragedy.” Dr. Ho calls upon people from all sectors of society to help the earthquake victims in Yushu.
The donation of Dr. Ho is to be sent through the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau Special Administrative Region.
