‘Hard’ opening for Marina Bay Sands in June

Marina Bay Sands, Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s new integrated resort in Singapore, will follow its ‘soft’ opening on 27th April with a ‘hard’ opening on 23rd June said Steve Jacobs, President of Sands China at the Asia’s GEM gaming conference in Manila.

Mr Jacobs didn’t specify whether all of MBS’s gaming floor would open during the ‘soft’ phase. MBS’s market rival Resorts World Sentosa operated by Genting, has yet to open the whole if its gaming area. Sources from within Genting have cited regulatory reasons for that delay, although other sources suggest the phased opening was driven by management considerations.

“At Resorts World Sentosa there aren’t enough bathrooms for everyone visiting the gaming floor,” a source told AGI.
