TransAct Technologies shows G2E Asia why its printers are taking the market by storm

TransAct Technologies, one of the world’s leading companies for financial transaction printers, returns to G2E Asia alongside its partner JCM Global with the very latest product releases for the regional gaming market.

TransAct’s extensive technical expertise has helped the company to expand its sales in the gaming industry rapidly via its Ithaca® and Epic product brands. By carefully listening to the needs of customers, TransAct has learned not just to meet current industry demands but also to anticipate the next phase of technological development for the gaming equipment sector. TransAct says this allows its customers to grow into TransAct products rather than having to squeeze their existing needs into rival printer systems that just about cope.

The proof of the effectiveness of this strategy is that TransAct has more than two million of its printers installed around the world. The company has a strong focus on the after-market side of the business as well, with a high commitment to printer service, supplies and support. A key example of the TransAct commitment to quality after sales care is its decision to set up a local Macau office. There, dedicated sales staff and trained engineers are available to support the customer needs of this key regional and global market.

Epic 950®

Among the products on show at G2E Asia 2009 is the industry-acclaimed Epic 950®, a thermal printer that sets the standard for printing done on board gaming machines. Stand out features of the Epic 950 include its innovative technology, reliability and ease of deployment. Its many advanced features include:

  •  •  Just in time low-ticket sensing. The ability of the Epic 950 to report when its stock of blank tickets is down to between six and eight pieces means operators can refill printers to maximum levels on each refill run. That translates into minimal down time per slot machine and maximum operational efficiency;
  •  •   Quick disconnect and modular design also reduce down time and the need to maintain different printers in stock;
  •  •   Ticketburst™ and ticket present. The entire ticket is printed prior to it being presented to the player, thereby minimising the chances of disputes between casino customers, operators and gaming equipment manufacturers.

ServerPort TM

The introduction of ServerPortTM exemplifies TransAct’s dedication to understanding customer needs and to providing the latest technology to casino operators. ServerPort provides the following advantages:

  •  •   A clear upgrade path to server based gaming;
  •  •   The ability to upgrade existing Epic 950 printers and turn them into even smarter printers. Smart functions enabled by ServerPort include:
  •  •   The ability to deliver promotions and coupons to the game and to print them;
  •  •   The capability to configure the printer for special functions

Epic 880™

Finally there is the Epic 880™, a printer powerhouse packed with features and functionality that belie its small footprint within each cabinet. The Epic 880 is ideal for situations where game or kiosk cabinet space is at a premium, yet where the very best, feature-rich and most flexible printer is required.

The Epic 880 is packed with features such as:

  •  •   A built-in path for a printed ticket to be safely retracted inside the cabinet in the event a player doesn’t take it;
  •  •   An easy-opening clamshell design providing effortless paper loading;
  •  •   Support for variable-length receipt printing of up to 10 inches, thus maximizing flexibility in printing options;
  •  •   A self-contained printer unit, with the electronics built into the base;
  •  •   An adjustable paper spindle for flexible paper roll positioning.
