David Green has stepped down from his role as Chairman of Australian-listed casino operator Silver Heritage Group with immediate effect.
In a Monday afternoon filing, Silver Heritage said that Green had tendered his resignation “for both personal reasons and also to enable him to focus upon other business interests.”
His role will be temporarily filled by Matthew Hunter, who joined the board as an independent director in December 2014.
Green’s departure comes less than five months after the company launched casino operations at its US$52 million Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa in Nepal, located just eight kilometres from the Indian border.
Last month Silver Heritage announced losses of US$1.1 million for the first three months of 2018 but has also seen its Nepal revenues increasing, with record GGR of US$460,000 through the first 28 days of April compared with US$911,000 in January, February and March combined.
